Early Autumn 2009 Update:

Kim's blog is now up and running.  Visit it here.

Shady Sayers qualified for the USPC Championships with a 2nd overall at the Tethralon Rally in Greensboro the weekend of September 12th.  Shady took a 1st under saddle with one rail down and the fastest time along with 2nd in shooting, 5th in running and a 5th in swimming.  Yay Shady!  This is incredible for your first Tetrathlon Rally!  We're all so proud of you!

FRC Schooling Dressage Show: September 12th
Congratulations to Stephanie and Summer at their first show.  Their scores were great and they took home two 3rds in Training 1 and 2 along with a 6th in Intro.  Mihran's rider Laura also had incredible scores bringing a 2nd in Training 1.

And Bramblewood was a sponsor for the inaugural Sugar Creek Youth Triathlon, also on the weekend of September 13th.  This amazing race brought in 240 participants who raised funds for the Daily Bread Ministries which will go to provide meals for thousands throughout the area.  Stay tuned for more information about the Sugar Creek Holiday Race.

Evening Clinic, Saturday August 29, 2009

Join us for a moonlight clinic with Mihran at Trinity Equestrian Center in Laurens, SC.  Individual sessions will focus on dressage techniques to improve work over fences.  This clinic is open to riders and horses of all levels.

Hampton Pines Grand Opening: 4/10/09

Mihran kicked off a new series of clinics in the SC low country at the gorgeous Hampton Pines Equestrian Center.  Kim Rupp and her family were generous hosts that weekend and the turn out for her new equestrian learning center was great.  Mihran plans to teach a series of monthly problem horse and rider clinics at the facility.  The next session will be held Sunday May 24th.

Seminar with Olympic Trainer Daniel Stewart

1/25/09

Bramblewood hosted an evening with Daniel Stewart, sports psychologist and author of "Ride Right."  This short seminar was filled with useful tools to keep our minds in the right spot, and to keep our horses happy with their work.  Daniel was in town for the USPC National Convention and though we only had a week to throw the seminar together, the meeting room was packed with guests, riders and parents.  We hope to make this a yearly event.  In the meantime, check out Daniel's book, and keep your eyes on the Bramblewood calendar to see when we'll host our first "psycho clinic" - a very interesting, fast-paced event for riders of all levels to simulate a tough show environment and riding under pressure.

Lucas Ward to ride in Presidential Inaugural Parade

If anyone wonders why Lucas Ward hasn't been around the barn for a while, he's been attending Culver Academy in Indiana this past year.  Lucas is a member of the Black Horse Troop at Culver and the troop has been invited to ride in the Presidential Inaugural Parade on January 20th in Washington, DC.

The Culver Inaugural parade tradition began in 1913 when the school's Black Horse Troop served as a personal escort to Woodrow Wilson.  The tradition has continued for 90 years.

In addition to riding with the Troop at this prestigious military academy, Lucas is also a member of the JV football team, the hockey team, the polo team and is Vice President of his freshman class.

We are so proud of you Lucas!  Please keep in touch and let us know all about your experience at Culver.
