Welcome to Our Farm

Thank you for your interest in our programs at Bramblewood Stables.  We are honored that so many potential riders have chosen Bramblewood as their first choice for riding lessons, workshops, coaching and more in the Upstate. To explore our deeper work at the farm we encourage everyone to watch our welcome video here.

If you're interested in keeping up with all the workshops, sessions and events we offer, as well as staying on top of community news and Kim's writing, join us at Stable Roots for our weekly newsletter, Taking Root.

If you’d like to learn more about the heart of our programs, listen to our podcast Relatively Stable.

If you are considering a gift certificate for someone, we suggest that you start with a Respite Session and an Intro Ride. The cost is $150 and is a great introduction to the work we do at the farm, no matter how long your giftee has been interested in horses. You can also find many gift ideas in our farm shop.

All potential lesson students, regardless of experience, must first sign up for a private Respite Session. After that class, you can be partnered with one of our awesome instructors for an Introductory Lesson, and from there you are welcome to join our weekly lessons with a permanent spot or continue to take single lessons as time allows. Our programs focus on the whole horse and the whole rider. Respite Sessions give us a chance to know you better and partner you with the best practitioner for your, or your child's, goals, wishes, and aspirations when joining the Bramblewood community. We also have many clients who remain in Respites where we explore the ancient art of horse training instead of choosing riding lessons. Respites are low-impact and soothing and many people report a more balanced nervous system.

While many of our programs are geared toward kids (we often have riders as young as 3 getting a start with us), we have a large family of adult riders who are either getting into horses for the first time or coming back to the sport after some time away. No matter what your age or experience, we want every client to feel that they are warmly welcomed and that they will find a pace that suits them as an individual and not simply be a part of the crowd.

If you are interested in booking a session, fill out the form below so that we can schedule you for a Respite Session right away. If you are interested in our events, camps, workshops, or mindset coaching, tell me more about your goals so that we can sign you up. Below you'll find a list of all Bramblewood programs:

———————————————————

  • Bramble Buddies: our kids' club that meets on the second Friday of each month. Kids explore horsemanship, make new friends and create FUN-damentals. $26 per club meeting. Learn more here.

  • The Half Halt: our adult club that meets on the third Thursday evening of every month. A chance for grown ups to relax, recharge, connect, and renew. Learn more here.

  • Journaling Workshops: for adults (and sometimes teens) happen every month both in-person and online at Bramblewood. Kim Carter guides you in an exploration of free-writing, an easy journaling technique that connects you with your true self and gives you access to the answers you already have inside you. No writing experience is required and these sessions are introvert friendly. Find out more here.

  • Respite Sessions: we do not offer tours at Bramblewood. If you’re curious about what horses are all about and/or you need a break from life where you can recharge and reboot, these sessions are offered every week. Many riders continue to take the respite rather than riding track after their first session as this is where we can dive deep into the ancient art of working with horses from the ground. The cost is $75 per individual or $55 per person if you're bringing a group. Learn more here

  • Introductory Ride: a one-hour private session for all riders, of all ages, who are new to Bramblewood (even if you’re not new to riding). These rides can be scheduled after you have joined us for an initial Respite Session. After you've completed a Respite and an Intro Ride, you may sign up for weekly lessons, or just continue taking single rides as time and schedule allow. These rides are also a great way to fit in sessions while you’re waiting for a permanent lesson time. Availability changes each week. The cost is $75 for your first session. From there you can continue individual sessions at $75 or move into a weekly lesson package for $240-275 per month.

  • Day Camps: For a full list of camps visit our Camp Page

  • Coaching: For adults and pre-teens/teens who are experiencing life change, want to set new goals, or want to break free of old habits. Our mindset coaching is led by certified EquineFlow practitioner Kim Carter whose passion is igniting change, empowerment, and transformation in clients of all ages. Coaching sessions can be scheduled at the farm or virtually. The cost is $100 per session. Learn more here.

Teaching is our main focus at Bramblewood and our seven instructors and amazing school horses are working with clients Tuesday-Sunday throughout the day and evening. We would love to have you join us. Whether you’re on our waiting list for lessons or taking part in any of the above programs, our community is a family and there are multiple ways to get involved with the farm. Many of our young riders volunteer with us and grow up at the farm and return to ride with us when they’re grown.
