Bramblewood Lesson Horses are part of our barn family for life. They’re our professors who work with us in lessons, and when their riding years are over, they enter our coaching program where they assist people in healing and growth. Bramblewood Horses don’t just teach people how to ride, they show us how to live, how to regulate our emotions, how to reconnect with nature, how to transform our lives.
Their work doesn’t stop with the people in the barn. Bramblewood Horses are ambassadors in the community, connecting with people near and far as they offer healing and hope. Our lesson horses often come from hard backgrounds and their work in our program is often the first time they have been offered a place of honor, peace, and dignity.
Bramblewood is committed to keeping senior horses active, comfortable and secure at ages when many older horses have few options. Their care, however, is costly.
Sponsors help cover the monthly cost of feed, hay, veterinary care, dental, farrier, shavings, supplements, healing practitioners, assistants, and barn repairs for individual horses in the Bramblewood program.
If you have a favorite Bramblewood Horse, or can’t decide who you love the most but want to give back to the barn in a special way, consider sponsoring a horse for a period of time so that we can go the extra mile keeping them in the comfort they deserve.
Your sponsorship also allows us to provide scholarship opportunities for riders referred through many upstate family services so that they can take part in sessions with your chosen horse.

If you sponsor a horse a minimum of 3 months, you will receive a framed photo of your chosen horse or you can have a photo taken with him/her.
If you sponsor a horse for 12 months we will list your name on a stall plaque beside your chosen horse’s door.

Your contribution gives us the opportunity to add additional services that keep the horses comfortable as they age while continuing to offer new stalls to horses that would not easily find a home in other environments.

This level supplies the equivalent of one week of hay and grain for one horse.

$100 for a month (or $1200 for a year)
This level supplies the equivalent of a farrier visit and one bag of grain for one horse.

$200 for a month (or $2400 for a year)
This level supplies the equivalent of two weeks of grain, hay, shavings, and stall cleaning for one horse.
$400 for a month (or $4800 for a year)
This level supplies the equivalent of one farrier visit, one routine vet visit, and one week of grain for one horse.
A contribution of any amount — if you feel called to contribute to the care of any Bramblewood Lesson Horse, every cent is cherished.

PLEASE NOTE: Your contribution is not tax deductible. Sponsorship of a Bramblewood horse is simply crowd-funding that is working for the better good of a beloved urban farm. Many people have asked how they can give back to Bramblewood and we developed this program as a way to earmark funds for horse care and scholarships.
